His attention is brought to a player who is winning a little too often. He's intrigued so he asks for her to be brought to his office and this is where he finds himself captured by her. Sparks fly between the pair of them and before they can properly get to know each other the casino goes on fire. It's a fun read, I'm a fan of paranormal romances and this is one of the better ones I've read recently. The characters are fun and occasionally things happen that aren't exceptionally logical from a character point of view but overall it's a good read. I'll be looking for more in this series and more from this author. I love Linda Howard and a bad LH is still better than most. This felt rushed to me. I got the world building, frankly it wasn't that complex or interesting (but I read a lot of fantasy, maybe to someone who had only ever read romance, it might have felt more out there) but neither the massively alpha hero (no objections there, I like my heros alpha) nor the heroine quite got interesting enough for me. They were more like ciphers than real people, characters that LH has created before. It's no where as good as Son of the Morning! I would rate it C+ for LH, which is a kind of B- for anyone one else. no reviews | add a review
