The legend of King Arthur is probably one of the best known, if not THE best known parts of British history. The stories have rung down through the ages until the characters are well known to everyone - Arthur(with his sword Excalibur), Queen Guinevere, Sir Lancelot, Sir Galahad, and the 150 Knights of the Round Table.

This is British history, legend and folklore. The language of the stories are beautiful and the book illustrations even more beautiful. It tells of a time of honour, chivalry and loyalty to one's King and country. It tells about being honest to yourself and to others. To be humble in defeat. To strive for what you desire. To pardon and to be humane when you have the power to.

Yes the language is old and rather quaint but that is because these stories are about 800-900 years old!! I think it good that the language hasn't been "updated" but rather left as it was originally written.

This is story-telling at its VERY best. ( )
