Judylou - Congratulations on reaching 75! I had a similar reaction to A Thousand Splendid Suns. It was a hard book for me to read, but very powerfully written. And I've just started the Series of Unfortunate Events books. Glad to hear that you are enjoying it!

A Thousand Splendid Suns is very good. Hosseini has a way of writing which portrays emotion and events quite vividly. I would not call it wonderful literature, but definitely a good read. I liked the parallel between changes in the political regime and changes in the home.
