About meI'm "fifty-something," married 16 years, and the mother of a teenager of whom I'm very proud. He is doing very well, despite dealing with the challenges of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
My hobbies and interests include reading (of course), music (I play the piano and sing a little), and bowling (I bowl in a league). I enjoy travel, and like to purchase books of local folklore (especially the spooky kind!) in places that I visit.
I'm a bit of a sports nut. Having lived in a number of locations in the great Commonwealth of Pennsylviania, I'm proud of our Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins (reigning champs of their respective sports) and Philadelphia Phillies (reigning National League champs and the previous year's World Champs). I also love auto racing of all kinds -- NASCAR, F1, IndyCar, WoO, you name it.
I work in a library, so I'm surrounded by books at work. I go home, and I'm surrounded by books there, too. Up until now, few of the books at home were cataloged. Library Thing has changed that. It has also changed my reading habits. I think I'm much more intentional about reading now.
I'm currently in several challenge threads:

About my libraryThis catalog contains books I own ("My Library"), books I've read that I used to own, and books I've borrowed and read from various sources (most often, the public library). It also contains a few books that are strictly my husband's, and a category for my son's books, too. My "To Read" category contains books I've already gotten my hands on that I want to read.
And then, there's my ever-growing Wishlist of books I don't own that I'd like to read! I've noted in various collections which ones are or are not available in various public library sources available to me.
I own many books that I haven't gotten around to reading yet . . . probably some that I'll never get around to reading, but feel I should keep "just in case." But I keep buying books, and reading books from the public library. My "read but not owned" collection contains some of my favorite books. And my wishlist has blossomed since I joined LT!

Thanks for the information regarding the Haunted episode. I didn't know the history of the tavern. It is a short drive from my house and in fact I pass it every time I drive to the library! Oh, now I will simply have to visit it. It is an inviting little tavern with candles in the window.
Happy Holidays to you!

That hot review was a surprise for me. I haven't had one for quite a while and that review was of a book I read before we had the "read but not owned" category. I took a break from my busy schedule a few days ago and added some of those books to my library along with the reviews I had on my computer "reading journal." I didn't have the energy to read a book or try to catch up on the threads and posting those reviews from 2008 was only a matter of entering books and then cut and paste. :-) I really enjoyed that book--the best of "the lot" of the ones I posted that day!

I'm glad you enjoyed Rescue Warriors book so much. I broke down and bought it over Thanksgiving because I had a really good coupon to use at Borders. I'm looking forward to reading it--hopefully over the Christmas break.
I plan to spend some time tomorrow trying to get caught up a little on LT. Until after the 15th of this month my reading and LT time will be really limited to what I can cram in before I "collapse" each night. This is a very busy time of the year for musicians. :-) This week I had virtually no LT time only got about 75 pages of a mystery read--I hope I can keep track of the plot at this rate!
I notice you've added The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. I read that last month and loved it. I hope you enjoy it.
