Yes, Rush Home Road is wonderful. Have you read her other book titled The Girls? It is equally as great.
I note you are currently reading Rush Home Road! I loved this book!
Teresa,

We share quite a number of books in our libraries! In fact, I noticed by perusing yours, I have missed quite a few I have read, and failed to enter. I also jotted down some titles for future reading (if I ever catch up)! I loved looking at the covers, and noticing how different quite a few are from the US. I have added your library as one that is interesting too.

All the very best,
Irene
I consider it quite an honor for a Library Thing member to add me to their interesting libraries. Thank you so very much. Sorry for the delay in acknowledging your comment. Family matters have taken quite a bit of my time most of August. Difficult to believe September is almost here.
When I have more time, I will peruse your library. I too do not read chick lit.

Have a lovely weekend!

My aunt lives in south London (Croydon) so we stayed with her but we also travelled up to Edinburgh for a few days this time. I have been to England many times but generally stay in the London area so it was fun to travel outside there and see some of the countryside. It's sad that my father is Irish and my mom's family is Welsh but I have never been there. One day!

I love the independents! We have a few around that I just love to visit. We just returned from Chicago and I was really happy to see how many quality bookstores they have. Needless to say, we brought back quite a few new babies. Now to find room for them all...
Yes, WH Smith over there does have some good sales. I picked up quite a few interesting titles last year when I went to England. I also love your Waterstones and Blackwells - I wish we had similar chains over here. I tend to frequent the independents because our national chain leaves much to be desired. It used to be WH Smith but the chain was bought and sold a few times and now it's unrecognizable.
That's okay... I just added your library too - hadn't had a chance to check out your library but now I see that we certainly do have a few books in common! I love this feature. It's eavestropping without being all covert about it.

BTW, how did you like Guernica? My copy went back to the library unread because I just didn't have the time to do it justice but is looks interesting.
Hi Teresa,

I just could not get into that book. It may just be me though. I started The Likeness and thought it was boring too. It got such good reviews. I used to finish a book even if I didn't like it. Now I figure there are too many good ones out there and too little time. I started Rapid Descent by Gwen Hunter last night. Good so far. I am also listening to When Will There be Good News by Kate Atkinson on an audio book.

Yes, I know that Heather makes great honey. We don't have much if any of that over here. Yes, I sell my honey. I didn't get much this year. Six of my hives swarmed (half of the bees left) and we had a terribly rainy summer. You can't control nature though. I wish I knew someone with an alfalfa field or fireweed.
Teresa,

Just started the Joyce Carol Oates book. Only a few pages in, but having a hard time getting interested. Hope it gets better.
Actually, I don't buy books. I get them from the library. If I bought all the books I read, I wouldn't have anyplace to live! I am on the reserve list to get Karin Slaughter's new book though. Have you ever been on her website? She is really funny.

I read your review of the Joyce Carol Oates book. It is now on my "to read" list.
Hi Teresa,

I'm new to Library Thing. Not sure what "being friends" involves. I love this website. I've found so many books I want to read. I've even received a free book already. It is Steve Martini's Guardian of Lies. I'm almost done with it. I'm not very good at giving reviews, but I guess I will get better. Do you participate in any of the chat areas? We seem to like the same kind of books.
Teresa,

I see you just read the new karin Slaughter book. She is my favorite author and I can't wait to get this one. I'm not reading any of the reviews because I'm afraid it will "give the story away".
Hi,

LibraryThing contacted me and indicated you were one of the winners of the Early Reviewer Giveaway (for my novel, Dirty Little Angels). Please send me your e-mail address (mine is mail@christophertusa.com), and I'll send you a copy of the e-book.

Thanks for entering the giveaway,

Chris
Hi Teresa,

I see you've added Child 44. I've recently finished reading this and it really is a brilliant book, and real mixture of Russian history and a gripping thriller. Hope you enjoy it.

Hi Teresa,

Me again, I meant 'Skeletons at the Feast', duh. By the way I've had a quick browse at your library and two books jumped out at me that I've read which I absolutely loved:-

A Thousand Acres - Jane Smiley
Rush Home Road - Lori Lansens

Have you read them?, if not put them near the top of your tbr pile, they are wonderful books.

Hi Teresa,

So glad you've joined LT, it will be a great way to stay in touch and find out what each other are reading. We do seem to have quite similar libraries. I initially spent about a week adding my first 1000 books and since then I've added them as and when. I received 'Skeletons at the Forest' this morning and will make a start on it as soon as, did you want me to return it when I've finished with it?. I'm now going to have a good old nose at all your books. If you spot a book in my library that I've rated that means I've read it and if you like I don't mind sending it to you, just let me know if anything catches your eye. I'm going to be sending you a couple of books soon, will let you know when I've sent them. Speak to you soon.
