About meMy first novel, SPEAKING of LOVE, was published in hardback in March 2007, and in paperback in February 2008, but I began writing fiction long before that. If all I did in the world was read, write and talk (and eat and drink, obviously) I would be very happy. But, equally obviously, there are more delightful things in life than just those four ... or five.

The website for my first novel is www.speaking-of-love.co.uk
and I blog about writing, life and the universe at www.writinglifeandtheuniverse.blogspot.c... My publishers, Beautiful Books, are at www.beautiful-books.co.uk and if you'd like to vote for SPEAKING of LOVE on the World Book Day / Spread the Word shortlist, you can, here: http://www.worldbookday.com/spreadthewor...

About my libraryMy virtual LibraryThing library is only a sample of my actual library which is, naturally, composed of books by writers whose work I love and they are, mostly, fiction: very often the fiction that has inspired my own writing or been connected with my own writing. And poetry. But there are some books in my real library that I have never read. And some that I have bought twice (because I never read the first one)! When I realise I've got two copies of the same book, one goes to the local charity shop - for Romanian orphans - but still, often, the first doesn't get read. Odd, that, isn't it? I have no idea why do I do that not-reading-and-continuing-to-buy thing.

On my LibraryThing virtual library catalogue I began by entering an edition of each book, not the exact edition on the actual shelf in my real library. Which, as you will have guessed, irritated me hugely when the wrong covers appeared in 'Random Books from my Library' on my blog. So, now, I've entered the right covers (editions), but - in the small number of books entered so far - I've only allowed myself to enter books that I have actually read.

I 'met' you on reading group like kehs! Hope your book is selling and being voted for
Lol! Hubby got more than slightly annoyed at having to eat at the dining table whilst surrounded by my overflow book pile. Couldn't see the problem myself. ;-)
Saw your book in a special display in Waterstones today!
Lol! The book shed was a marriage saving device. ;-) BTW In case you hadn't realised, we've met over on http://www.thereadinggrouponline.co.uk/s...
Sounds great to me. I shall look out for it in the shops next year! Good luck.

I'm flattered to be asked - so yes - thank you. Although having said that I've now spotted a grammatical error in the first line which I'll edit pronto! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was also a pleasure to handle too - truly a 'beautiful' book.

Mark at Mostly Books in Abingdon gave me your book to read after their writer's workshop which I gather you went to; it's his fault I'm a librarything addict too.

I hope you write more soon.
Regards
Annabel Gaskell
