About meI made the mistake of taking a life-long interest in books and science and writing a technical book. Alas, I became an instant "expert". Now I travel the world teaching software programming to scientists, when what I really want to be doing is reading and playing tennis. :-(

About my libraryI like to think I read a lot of science books, but since I've been keeping track of what I read, there is nearly as much fiction on the list as science. "Balance in all things" is my new motto.

I enjoyed your review of Noelle Oxenhandler's wishing book - as a similar episode of synchronicity has touched my life (involving journal writing too no less).

And now I see you are from Colorado. I grew up there and have family in the Loveland area. I go back to visit as often as possible but still find myself missing those mountains. (really missing them this time of year!!)
I followed your review of 'The Worst Journey in the World' here and then took a gander at your other reviews.

Oh my goodness! Just about everything you've reviewed makes me want to read the whole book. We have so few works in common that your's are pretty much new to me.(Except Middlesex, I've started it umpteen times and just can't get into it.) I've been shaking my head in agreement when you write about Anne Tyler and Sapolsky...
