About meI'm a researcher at an ecumenical institute in Strasbourg, France, where I live with my husband and son.

About my libraryMy library is smaller than it used to be. When we moved from our student housing to France last year, we decided in the insanity of the moment only to take books that 1) we really loved personally or 2) would be hard to find again--i.e. not available at your average public library. We had a sale, 10 cents per paperback and 25 cents per hardcover. The masses descended upon us and cleared us out. We went from what we estimate to be around 2000 books to about 750. Egad. We still say, "Where's that book?" and then remember, with a thud of remorse, our past madness. Well, on the up side, we had indeed acquired a lot of books that we really could live without, and now we are living without them. The point is, every book listed in this library is individually loved, chosen, and cherished.
