About my libraryIve got lots of books and I've run out of shelf space. I categorise my books by genre and author, but not alphabetically.

I'm currently trying to put all my children's books onto my libarything catalogue, which is taking a looong time:)

The tag 'collection' refers to an anthology of short stories

Life
Edgar Guest

Life is a gift to be used every day,
Not to be smothered and hidden away;
It isn't a thing to be stored in the chest
Where you gather your keepsakes and treasure your best;
It isn't a joy to be sipped now and then
And promptly put back in a dark place again.

Life is a gift that the humblest may boast of
And one that the humblest may well make the most of.
Get out and live it each hour of the day,
Wear it and use it as much as you may;
Don't keep it in niches and corners and grooves,
You'll find that in service its beauty improves.
Hi, just received an email from the owner of the Norton anthology as follows:

I checked the ISBN of this book and it is correct, but it doesn't say that this is the Instructors Handbook for the Norton Anthology.... is this what you were looking for?

Did you still want the book?

Veritas
Ruby- I have received Overheard at the Bookstore that I am angeling for you. I have posted it to my inventory (turtlegirl on BM) as Angel Book #3 reserved in your name.

Kristin
Okay, I'll post your book in the next few days. BTW It was exactly where I thought I'd put it, and still next to the book it used to be next to. :-)
Rubes, I have found the book you want. Just to check - The Wordsworth Classical Dictionary William Smith ISBN 1853263680. If it's the correct one I'll pop it in the post but don't hold your breath - there's a postal strike, don't forget.Or shall I hand deliver it? Lol! Only joking . . . ;-)
Ruby- I've got good news and bad news. The good news is I received Overheard at the Bookstore yesterday. The bad news is it was wrapped so tightly (with no inner wrapping of any sort to protect it) that I had to use a sharp knife just to open it. Once I got it out, I noticed that I had sliced the cover pretty much from stem to stern (it's holding on for dear life at the very top and bottom). I must say, it's a clean cut, very straight, I'm actually impressed that I got the knife through the hard cover. Anyway... I have ordered a used copy (seller says it is brand new) from amazon.com and I'll let you know when it arrives.

Kristin
The book character night sounds fun. I knew your wings and wand would get used. Is it tiara time too? :-)
Rubes, if you keep adding books at this rate your puny uni shelves are going to collapse. :-)I do like the sound of Walk Around the Snickelways of York. Maybe you can bring it home at Christmas so I can have a read.
I received Thirteen Stories have reserved it for you on BM. Feel free to mooch away!
Best of luck at Uni!
I did notice that, go ahead and cancel. silly people :(
Thank you so much for angeling No Nation is an Island for me! I'm TJBales on Bookmooch.
So did that cookbook work for you? :)
Ruby- I had emailed the owner of Molly Micky Moon about changing the reservation to me, but I just checked and it looks like the reservation was cancelled but not changed to me, so someone else got it. I'll add it to my WL and keep an eye out for it to grab it if it comes up again.
Kristin
btw, I found you a book in Russian of fairytales. It's a hardcover book, with some nice retro illustrations. Incredible, but tons of the children/YA books I saw were translated from English, it was hell to find books from Russian authors...

I also got a bunch of detective stories, that I'll detail in the foreign languages thread. ;)
Ruby- I saw your comment on the ranting thread. Let me know if you'd like me to angel that book for you.

Kristin
I have American cookboos, and I expect you'd want British ones for measurements?
Ruby- I forgot to say that The Final Warning is marked Special Teacher's Edition and is hardback, not paperback like the BM listing says. Let me know if that's not OK.

Kristin
Ruby,

I have now received all 3 books I angeled for you (James Patterson- The Final Warning AND The Dangerous Days of Daniel X; Kathryn Wesley- The 10th Kingdom). I have posted them all to BM reserved in your name.

Kristin

P.S. Thanks so much for the smooch!!
Thanks for being an Angel for me! Danielle Steel Love:Poems. My BM ID is Mareofthesea.
Thank you for Angeling Forever Today for me!
The Secret History of Giants has arrived, and I've posted it with a reservation for you. What a neat little book!
Rubbah, for someone so young you have a fantastic varied library. I am pleased to see you have read The Electric Michelangelo by Sarah Hall, fabulous read. I can also recommend The Carhullan Army by her also. She is a very talented writer.
Wanna Angel some more UK books for me? :)
Hi Ruby,
Thanks so much for mooching The Spook's Apprentice for me. Here is your memory 'tag' so you know who you got it for... Lman. :) hehe.
~Lyn
The Old Country is here and I have reserved it for you.
The Old Country mooch has been accepted. I found another book to mooch from her myself. I'll let you know as soon as it arrives.
Do please spill the means - what does bookmooch get used to indicate?
Meant to add that Berlin showed up on my map. :-)
Hello! I finally made it!
Thanks again for the angel mooch! No hurries, take your time on the shipping.
Thank you so much for mooching the book for me! And I'm really glad she said yes :)
Just posting here to let you know who the book is for. I am in no rush.
Hi Rubbah

Sorry to take soooooo long to get back to you, but I haven't been on LT for months. I just wanted to say thank you for your kind words about my book, and also to say a long-distance helloooooo all the way from not-so-sunny Scotland.
Okay, just so you know, because I went back and there seemed to be some confusion in the angel thread . . . I've got Calling on Dragons and Talking to Dragons both requested for you, and I just got the mooch acceptances. :)
Hi Ruby!
Thanks for your email - I've found you!
Shakila :)
Thanks, Rubbah! That's great to hear!

Best,
Jim
Thanks a million - you're a star!
Hi,

I noticed you were looking for Charles de Lint books. You may want to check out http://www.bookcloseouts.com. They have about 21 titles available with prices starting at $3.99 per book. They ship worldwide, and are reasonable.

Deliverance Dane is in! I suspect that it will eat the remainder of this week's post budget along with next week's, so I'll list the book for you and hopefully mail it next week.

It looks pretty awesome.
Thank you for the shout-back. I admire you for posting so many reviews--one of those things I keep telling myself to do and never quite getting around to.
Yes, I would be happy to mooch it :) And I'm not in a hurry, so it doesn't need to be listen very soon. I have huge pile of books on my TBR pile. Thanks a lot, it's very nice of you! Greetings!
Yes actually, it is from that book, lol. I love Alice in Wonderland and reading the twist was amazing.

Okay, I'll have to give them a try someday, I've heard a lot of people that liked them, but not people I know personally. I always looked at the Mr. Monday series, but I could never get myself to read them. I loved the Seventh Tower series, it's very cool. It's for younger readers, of course, but I still like it because it kind of exposes humanity and the social order in a simplified way.

Lol, it doesn't matter if you're awful if you enjoy it. I used to have a friend that sucked so bad at singing, but I let her do it cuz it was fun for her.
Hey Rubbah, I noticed that we share a lot of books in common, well at least on my end :). Although they may be your childrens' books, idk. I've always wondered about reading Garth Nix's books like Lirael... do you recommend them? I'm not sure if I'd like that series eve though I have read the Seventh Tower and stuff. We also share some favourite authors, like Holly Black and Charles de Lint... I actually found you by your review on Ironside, an amazing series. I also organize my books by genre and authors, lol.

And since you like faeries and stuff, you should read The Stolen Child, by Keith Donohue

Anyways, just wanted to point that stuff out, lol
Ooo. Shared book tastes. I'm still looking for a copy of River Sea with the right (blue butterfly cover).

A Song for Summer? *pokes at it, promptly wishlists*

*pokes at other unfamiliar books... so you're the reason why my wishlist is huge!*
Thanks a lot, Ruby. I just mooched! :) x
I notice you've not long added the Darren Shan books. Have you read them or just received them? I love Darren Shan although I've not read the new collection, I've read the Cirque de Freak ones.
A wonderful library of books you have there, Rubbah. Added many to my own so we now share 100. Think it was at 67 before that. Spend considerable time looking for good fantasy books and fairytales so perhaps you'll see some you like within my tags as well.
I'm glad someone finds our books interesting! (What is 'early history'? History that happened before it was expected?!)
hi rubbah, guess who! i did as u told me to. ive only got 11 books so far tho.
I am also from the reading group of which your mum's a member. You have got a smashing library by the way!
That isn't good [re coursework!] ... feel guilty now so will stand in the corner.
It is addictive on here and I'm meant to be delivering some KS3 English training for staff tomorrow and am still on here!!
Your mum encouraging me check your library means more books added to my buying pile!!!
