I can't thank you enough for the nice review of my book, "Thanksgiving." I guess i wrote it for readers like you, people who want to read a history that's about people, not just events. I'm glad you appreciated the smoothness of the reading. I always picture my reader with my book in one hand, a TV remote control in the other. If I lose the reader's interest for a second, I lose to the enemy.
And I'm glad you liked the feel of the book. You're the first person to comment on that. I designed the book myself, consciously chose a cover that was as simple as the people inside the book, paid extra for the texture of the cover stock, and stuck a ribbon in there in respect for the topic. It was very satisfying to have control of all stages of the book - so much better than working with a publisher!
